Our Values

COMPASSION

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:“Allah (ﷺ) has one hundred (degrees of) mercy, of which He has shared one between all of creation, by virtue of which you show mercy and compassion towards one another and the wild animals show compassion towards their young. And He has kept back ninety-nine (degrees of) mercy by virtue of which He will show mercy to His slaves on the Day of Resurrection.”

PATIENCE

“Surely, Allah is with those who are As-Sabirun (the patient).”

“And Allah loves As-Saabirun (the patient).”

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (may Allah (ﷺ) be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “whoever is patient Allah (ﷺ) will bestow patience upon him, and no one is ever given anything better and more generous than patience.”

TRUTHFULNESS

‘Abdullah reported Allah’s (ﷺ) Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: It is obligatory for you to tell the truth, for truth leads to virtue and virtue leads to Paradise, and the man who continues to speak the truth and endeavours to tell the truth is eventually recorded as truthful with Allah (ﷺ), and beware of telling of a lie for telling of a lie leads to obscenity and obscenity leads to Hell-Fire, and the person who keeps telling lies and endeavours to tell a lie is recorded as a liar with Allah.

Abdullah bin Mas’ud narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Abide by truthfulness. For indeed truthfulness leads to righteousness. And indeed, righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continues telling the truth and trying hard to tell the truth until he is recorded with Allah (E) as a truthful person. Refrain from falsehood. For indeed falsehood leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. A slave (of Allah (ﷺ)) continues lying and trying hard to lie, until he is recorded with Allah as a liar.”

KEEPING SECRET

Narrated `Abdullah: The Prophet (ﷺ) said “When three persons are together, then no two of them should hold secret counsel excluding the third person.”[Bukhari]

Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “If a man tells you something then looks around, it is a trust.” [Tirmidhi]

LOYALTY

Jubair ibn Mut’im reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), peace and blessings be upon him, said: He is not one of us who calls to tribalism. He is not one of us who fights for the sake of tribalism. He is not one of us who dies following the way of tribalism. [Sunan Abu Dawud]

The Prophet redefined the tribal slogan, originally meaning my tribe right or wrong, to now mean loyalty to justice and righteousness. Loyalty to the Muslims does not mean to overlook or excuse their injustices, but rather to stop them from committing oppression.

Tribalism, the idea that we should support our “side” regardless of considerations of justice, has been totally rejected by Islam.

MODESTY

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts). And Haya (This term “Haya” covers a large number of concepts which are to be taken together; amongst them are self-respect, modesty, bashfulness, and scruple, etc.) is a part of faith.” [Bukhari]

GENEROSITY

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophetﷺ said: “Generosity is close to Allah (ﷺ), close to Paradise, close to the people and far from the Fire. Stinginess is far from Allah, far from Paradise, far from the people and close to the Fire. The ignorant generous person, is more beloved to Allah than the worshiping stingy person.” [Tirmidhi]

Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) was the most generous of all the people, and he used to reach the peak in generosity in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel met him. Gabriel used to meet him every night of Ramadan to teach him the Qur’an. Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) was the most generous person, even more generous than the strong uncontrollable wind (in readiness and haste to do charitable deeds). [Bukhari]

GRATEFUL

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messengerﷺ of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever is not grateful to the people, he is not grateful to Allah.” [Tirmidhi]

Ibn ‘Abbas reported God’s Messenger ﷺas saying, “There are four characteristics which are of such a nature that one who has been given them has been endowed with what is best in this world and the next:

a thankful heart, a tongue which makes mention of God, a body which shows endurance in trial, and a wife who does not seek to be unfaithful to [her husband] in her person or his property.”

[Baihaqi transmitted it in Shu’ab al-iman]

GRATITUDE

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet ﷺsaid:

“The one who eats and is grateful is like the status of the patient fasting person.” [Tirmidhi]

Narrated AbuBakrah: When anything came to the Prophet (ﷺ) which caused pleasure (or, by which he was made glad), he prostrated himself in gratitude to Allah. [Abi Dawood]

Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu`ba: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to pray so much that his feet used to become oedematous or swollen, and when he was asked as to why he prays so much, he would say, “Shall I not be a thankful slave (to Allah (ﷺ) )?” [Bukhari]Upcoming Events – On this page we can add different events that have taken place or are upcoming.
