From May 19th to May 21st 2023, around 30 of us embarked on a residential trip to Avon Tyrell, where adventure awaited. Our journey was enriched by the presence of two esteemed scholars, Mufti Yasir and Maulana Zayd, who hosted an enlightening campfire Q&A session.

Divided into three teams – Noor Knights, The Conquerors, and Akhies in Trackies – we dove into a series of exhilarating activities. From honing our aim in Archery to testing our teamwork in Shelter Building, navigating Low Ropes, and crafting sturdy rafts in Raft Building, each challenge brought us closer together. In addition to the physical activities, we also tested our knowledge with a Quiz, adding an extra layer of excitement to the trip.

As the competition heated up, we also showcased our culinary skills in a cooking challenge including both BBQ and Breakfast, where taste, teamwork, and cleanliness were paramount. In the end, it was the Akhies in Trackies who emerged triumphant as the overall winners.

To recognise individual excellence, prizes were awarded to one member from each team, handpicked by the supervisor. These prizes contained luxurious items, adding an extra touch of excitement to our unforgettable Avon Tyrell adventure.
